Function description
As Senior Project Manager you are responsible for the end to end delivery of our industrial thermal storage projects, typically €5–20M capex. At the same time, you will shape and improve our internal delivery processes to prepare Saltes for multi site rollout. You bring structure, predictability, and discipline to planning, risk, budget control, and stakeholder alignment - from kick off to commissioning.
What you will do:
• Lead full project delivery, from contract start to commissioning and handover.
• Standardize and improve our internal delivery processes (phase gates, documentation, reporting, change/claim management).
• Create and maintain integrated project schedules covering engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
• Control budgets: define project budgets, run monthly cost control, track forecasts, and address variations early.
• Drive risk identification and mitigation, ensuring predictable outcomes.
• Manage EPC partners, suppliers, and contractors, ensuring quality, scope adherence, and timely delivery.
• Serve as the primary customer interface, while coordinating internally with Engineering, Finance, and Sales.
• Safeguard HSE and quality from design to execution.
Your profile
• 10+ years of experience managing industrial CAPEX or energy projects (thermal storage experience is a plus, not a requirement).
• Strong planning and scheduling skills, comfortable with complex, multi disciplinary project plans.
• Solid technical understanding to make informed decisions throughout engineering and execution.
• Experience with EPC management is a significant advantage.
• Excellent stakeholder, risk, contract, and budget management capabilities.
• Professional, structured, hands on, and execution driven.
• Fluent in English (Dutch or other European languages are a plus).

Saltes is a young technology company based at the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven, focused on the industrial heat transition by developing heat storage systems using molten salt. Twenty percent of all energy used worldwide goes to industrial heat, most of it still fossil-based. We're changing that by electrifying the industry with our ThermalPod® heat battery, making affordable renewable heat accessible. Building on ten years of pilot systems, we're now developing the ThermalPod and building out our project delivery network.
